The Life Sciences Institute: bringing together science and society
Founded in 1985 at the initiative of Doctor Charles Mérieux and Baron Edmond de Rothschild, the Life Sciences Institute in Lyon, France, conducts biomedical research.
At a time when the growing complexity of science tends to intimidate non-specialists, the Life Sciences Institute aims to make science accessible and useful to all.
The Institute’s work focuses on the potential impact of scientific discoveries in our daily lives in fields such as health, nutrition and the environment, exploring topics ranging from mobile telephones to genetically modified organisms.
The Institute organizes encounters that bring together decision-makers from different spheres of research, finance and business.
