The Edmond de Rothschild Foundations

The Ariane de Rothschild Fellowship

"By learning and doing together, the Fellows in this Fellowship will share an extraordinary life experience. It is my hope that they join our vision and become ambassadors of social impact and dialogue, particularly among Muslim and Jewish communities."

Ariane de Rothschild

The Ariane de Rothschild Fellowship (AdRF) is a network of entrepreneurs and social activists with a genuine ability for innovative thinking and cross-cultural dialogue. Through encouraging a business mindset, strategic civic engagement and impactful leadership, AdRF develops unique models for conflict resolution, particularly among Jewish and Muslim communities in North America and in Europe.

Leveraging a transversal approach, AdRF taps into the following capacity building drivers:

  • Business Training
  • Applied Social Sciences
  • Innovative Leadership
  • Experiential Dialogue

Since 2009, the Edmond de Rothschild Foundations have championed AdRF as an original conflict resolution paradigm which bolsters more inclusive and collaborative societies in Europe and North America.

The program blends an intense business school curriculum with thought provoking academic readings and dialogue workshops.

It targets visionary leaders with strong skills in driving social change, critical thinking and empathy. The AdR Fellow is eager to learn, thinks out of the box and believes in the strength of pluralism.

Through an intense summer program followed by a winter bootcamp, the AdR Fellowship helps change makers to strengthen their impact, develop their organization and navigate across cultural differences by a combination of theoretical teaching, tailor-made coaching and peer-to-peer learning.

How we make a difference:

  • We create a new model for conflict resolution by blending social entrepreneurship, social sciences and cross-cultural dialogue.
  • We build a vibrant network of social leaders.
  • We enable social enterprises and non-profit organizations to reach sustainability

AdRF rests on the diversity and excellence of its fellows who bring a wide variety of experiences and great enthusiasm. The Fellowship has also rallied committed academic partners in Europe and North America.

Between Thursday, May 31st and Sunday, June 3rd, the Fellows of the Ariane de Rothschild Fellowship organized almost simultaneous forums on cross cultural dialogue across the Atlantic, in New York and Paris. Both initiatives strengthened the involvement of the Ariane de Rothschild network in practical cross-cultural collaborations and spaces.
Following the first two-week training seminar held in Cambridge, last July, 19 social entrepreneurs selected as 2011 Fellows met from January 3 to January 6 at ESSEC Business School to take part in leadership and intercultural dialogue classes, business plan strategy workshops and cultural visits. This second edition allowed 2011 Fellows to continue making progress on their respective projects after six months of further development.
The AdR Fellowship, an initiative of the Edmond de Rothschild Foundation (NY), is a unique network of entrepreneurs and social leaders who are building a breakthrough model for conflict resolution by harnessing the power of social entrepreneurship.
Fellowship for cross-cultural entrepreneurs and social activists will be held July 19-31, 2015, at the University of Cambridge, UK. Apply now!
